Therapy for Pilots and Aviation Professionals

Aviation professionals operate within environments that demand precision, accountability, and sustained performance under pressure. Over time, the cognitive, emotional, and physiological demands of the profession can accumulate often without visible signs until something feels off.

At Eastside Center for Healing, we provide therapy for pilots and aviation professionals who are navigating stress, burnout, anxiety, sleep disruption, life transitions, or the emotional impact of critical events. Our work respects the unique regulatory, medical, and professional realities of aviation careers.

We offer a confidential, grounded space focused on clarity, stability, and resilience not pathologizing or unnecessary labeling.

A Careful, Informed Approach

Our approach with pilots is measured, transparent, and collaborative. We understand the importance of medical certification, career longevity, and the need for discretion.

Therapy may support:

  • Stress management and burnout

  • Performance pressure and self-expectation

  • Anxiety, panic, or sleep concerns

  • Processing critical incidents or near-miss events

  • Life transitions, identity shifts, or relationship strain

We focus on strengthening internal regulation, decision-making clarity, and overall well-being while remaining attentive to professional considerations.

Confidentiality and Professional Integrity

We approach care with careful attention to confidentiality, documentation, and informed consent. Our clinicians understand the concerns pilots may have about seeking support and work collaboratively to ensure therapy is both supportive and responsible.

If you’re navigating uncertainty about seeking care, we invite you to schedule a consultation to discuss your questions and concerns.

The HIMS Program

For pilots navigating substance use concerns, mental health challenges, or FAA medical certification issues, the HIMS Program provides a structured, recovery-oriented pathway designed specifically for aviation professionals.

At Eastside Center for Healing, we understand the unique pressures pilots face when considering treatment under the HIMS framework. Our role is to provide clinically sound, respectful, and informed care that supports both personal recovery and professional integrity.

Therapy within the context of HIMS focuses on:

  • Supporting sustained recovery and emotional stability

  • Strengthening insight, accountability, and motivation for change

  • Addressing stress, burnout, and underlying contributors to risk

  • Collaborating thoughtfully with required professionals when appropriate

If you are exploring HIMS participation or have questions about whether this pathway is appropriate for you, we offer consultation to help you understand your options and next steps.

Collaboration with Aviation Medical Examiners and Treatment Professionals

We maintain established professional relationships with local Aviation Medical Examiners (AMEs) and other aviation treatment professionals. When collaboration is appropriate and authorized by the pilot, we coordinate thoughtfully to support continuity of care within the requirements of the aviation system.

Our approach respects professional boundaries, informed consent, and confidentiality. Collaboration is never automatic and always guided by the pilot’s needs, circumstances, and regulatory considerations.
